The Freak Brothers are a living part of C-U history, holding connections to the legendary Nature’s Table scene of the late 80s. Considering that they don’t gig around too often anymore, five bucks is a steal.

turns out Memphis on Main actually has a pretty good area for hosting shows. We recommend you go to this one, where the Sugar Prophets will debut their new bassist, Kevin Wilson. No word on cover, but we’re guessing somewhere in the $5 range.

Corn Desert Ramblers are one of Champaign-Urbana’s best kept secrets, playing high-energy bluegrass with some jammy tendencies thrown in for good measure. Plus, you probably don’t go to enough shows at the Iron Post.
