Come out and celebrate four years of the Urbana Hootennany over at The Rose Bowl Tavern on Monday night. Special guests The Matchsellers, from Kansas City, will be playing some bluegrass tunes.

What: Stef Chura with Emily Neblock

Where: Library House

When: Monday, March 7th at 7 p.m.

Stef Chura is a singer-songwriter from Detriot, Michigan. Check out her single “Faded Heart”. She will be playing on Monday night over at the Library House along with local musician Emily Neblock.

What: Twin Peaks

Where: The Accord ($12)

When: Wednesday, March 9th at 9 p.m.

Chicago group Twin Peaks are bringing their garage punk sounds to The Accord for a Wednesday night show. They have just announced that their third album Down in Heaven will be out on May 13th – check out their newest single “Walk To the One You Love”. They will be joined by acid pop group Strange Faces, and local garage band The Tomblands.

What: Secret Stuff, The Foxery, Krelboyne, and Pretend I’m Not There

Where: Institute 4 Creativity ($5)

When: Wednesday, March 9th at 8 p.m.

Great lineup for this one over at the Institute 4 Creativity on Wednesday night. Secret Stuff is an emo group that is coming to us from Nashville, TN. Give a listen to their latestet EP – This is Fine. They are joined by The Foxery, a alternative rock group from Louisville, locals Krelboyne, and Pretend I’m Not There who are visiting from Springfield.

What: Summer Camp Wednesdays: The Hip-Hop Battle

Where: The Canopy Club ($3)

When: Wednesday, March 9th at 10 p.m.

The Canopy Club continues their Summer Camp Wednesdays with this week’s edition featuring a strong lineup of local hip-hop artists like Chase Baby, Truth AKA Trouble, and Josi Green. Check out this interview we did with Chase Baby a few months back.

What: Kane Brown

When: Thursday, March 10th at 7 p.m.

Kane Brown is a country singer from Georgia who has a background in R&B. His debut EP Closer, which he released last summer, was a success, peaking at #7 on the Country charts. Check out his single – “Used To Love You Sober”

What: Mope Grooves, Bookmobile, and BullNettle

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($5)

When: Thursday, March 10th at 9 p.m.

Mope Grooves are a pop garage band that are coming to us all the way from Portland, Oregon. They are joined by local punk band Bookmobile, and BullNettle.

What: Seventeen Sisters, with Blue Dream, and Mustache

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($7)

When: Friday, March 11th at 9 p.m.

Eclectic rock group Seventeen Sisters are coming down from Chicago to play for us on Friday night. Also playing will be an acid blues band Blue Dream, and Mustache.

What: Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour

Where: Krannert Center for the Performing Arts ($10-45)

When: Saturday, March 12th at 7:30 p.m.

Some world-class jazz musicians are coming to town on Saturday night for the Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour. Performing will be the likes of Raul Midon, Ravi Coltrane, Nicholas Payton, Gerald Clayton, Joe Sanders, and Kendrick Scott.

What: Marathon, with Take Care, Jeremiah Fisher, and Bath Naps

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($7)

When: March 12th at 9 p.m.

Local “guitarkestra” Marathon will be headlining this one over at Mike N Molly’s. Also playing will be local rock group Take Care, as well as Jeremiah Fisher and Bath Naps.
