WHAT: Desert Neighbor, Twin Differences, Panel Van, Trout
WHERE: The Highdive ($3)
WHEN: Tuesday, July 26th at 10:00 p.m.
The Highdive continues its run of Tuesday shows with something a bit off the previously-beaten punk path. Locals Twin Differences and Indiana band Desert Neighbor bring some serious alt-country vibes (listen to this song, guys) and Trout fall squarely in the folk punk category. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more energetic, Panel Van will also drop of set of their angular math rock.
WHAT: Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Groundscore
WHERE: Canopy Club ($19 advance)
WHEN: Wednesday, July 27th at 8:00 p.m.
Yes, Clutch play the Canopy Club, a lot. That’s because they’re an awesome, awesome live band. This time they’re bringing the classic lineup of thrash legends Corrosion of Conformity along — they made Animosity, which is one of the best and more under appreciated albums ever.
WHAT: The Last Straw
WHERE: Highdive ($10)
WHEN: Saturday, July 30th at 6:00 p.m.
July means one thing if you were into jazz, blues, or bluegrass in the late 80s and early 90s around these parts; the Nature’s Table reunion. While I imagine it’s somewhat of a “you had to be there” deal, that doesn’t mean the music will be any less awesome, especially with the numerous special guests being promised.
WHAT: Easter, Deathtram, Petunias
WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($5)
WHEN: Saturday, July 30th at 8:00 p.m.
This will be bedroom wunderkind Easter’s second show in town, and first with a full band. I can only imagine how epic “All the People That I Love the Most” is gonna sound with some drums behind it. Also on the bill are Deathtram and somewhat mysterious newcomers Petunias. Bonus points: if you show up early (between seven and eight), Smile Politely may even pay your cover.
