Touring acts Rose Gold and Avoid are bringing some alterna-emo to Blips and Chitz, and they’ll be accompanied by local acts Radiation Babies and the appropriately titled metal band Not for The Faint of Heart.

This evening is presented by Prospect Management and Canopy Club, but will be held at Krannert Center. It’ll be a night of EDM featuring young emcees and producers: Light House, DJ Mixerman, and Win & Woo.

WHAT: Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder

WHERE: Virginia Theatre (tickets start at $29.50)

WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

When legendary bluegrass and country artist Ricky Skaggs was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1982 at the age of 28, he was the youngest ever to receive that honor. Goofy, mathy indie group The Walters have a brand spanking new album they put out a couple weeks ago. They’ll play a set at Cowboy on Saturday with alternative rock band White Siberian Tigers, who also have some fresh music for you.

Producer duo Louis the Child are back in C-U after their headlining role at Pygmalion last fall.
