Perhaps we’re a bit out of season for celtic, but that doesn’t mean the music will sound any different, now does it? These guys have been recording and touring since 1996, and their fame is based in a large part on their great live shows.
WHAT: The Mayflower Band, Lonely Trailer, Ahymmsa
WHERE: Canopy Club ($7)
WHEN: Saturday, August 6th at 9:00 p.m.
I’ll readily admit to knowing nothing about The Mayflower Band or Ahymmsa (the former’s Facebook page lists them as “Rock/Alt-Psych/Rock”, for what that’s worth), but scene godfathers Lonely Trailer will stick their heads up for a rare live show. It’s going to be pretty awesome. Especially if they play “Cannon”.
WHAT: Kilborn Alley
WHERE: Iron Post ($TBA)
WHEN: Saturday, August 6th at 9:30 p.m.
Quick, how long has it been since you went to see music in downtown Urbana? Probably a while, right? Do yourself a favor and see one of the very best live bands in town, regardless of genre, on their home turf.
