On Friday at The Accord, local female hip-hop duo Mother Nature performed for the first time since releasing their EP exclusively via Smile Politely on Thursday night. The show drew a vast mixture of people and despite the late start the energy was infectous.
The performance began with spirited performances from Chasin Treezz, JEFF K%NZ and Gr8Sky, and Boycut before the headliners took the stage around midnight.
Mother Nature, featuring T.R.U.T.H and Klevah was backed up by vocalist Cii La’Cole and band Abnormous. T.R.U.T.H and Klevah put on a dynamic performance and were not shy about interacting with their fans throughout the show, at one point joining the crowd on the floor during one of their songs. While T.R.U.T.H and Klevah certainly compliment each other vocally, what might have been most intriguing about the show was the obvious emotional connection that T.R.U.T.H and Klevah share with each other and with their music. That connection lends a power to their music that can only truly be appreciated by seeing them together and listening to them talk about each other and their music.
