Soooo…tell me about your new arrivals:
Kicking off this week’s batch of new items at Exile is a long overdue LP pressing of The Flaming Lips now classic album The Soft Bulletin. Any of you who were lucky enough to catch them at the High Dive when this album was released will likely tell you this is one of, if not their best, releases. The new LP version features a beautiful gatefold cover along with two 180 gram discs and a CD with 3 unreleased tracks!
Seriously, what more could you want?
Muse also gets some LP re-issue love from Warner Bros. this week with all four of their full lengths now available on our shelves. Keeping with new vinyl releases this week, Modest Mouse’s latest, No One’s First, and You’re Next, finally comes to wax as well. A couple other LP issues of note include the latest solo effort from Brendan Benson of Raconteurs fame (also available on CD this week) and the brand new album from Mew.
Not buying vinyl yet? Not to worry, we still carry these favorites on CD as well. Those of you who love a good Quentin Tarantino soundtrack rejoice… the Inglorious Basterds CD has arrived. We haven’t listened to it yet, but then again, we haven’t seen the movie — which isn’t out yet — either. Exile also has the brand new Love and Rockets tribute album, New Tales to Tell, featuring the likes of Frank Black, The Flaming Lips, Monster Magnet, and the Dandy Warhols. Other new CDs rounding out this week’s releases include the brand new Delbert McClinton, Joe Henry, Pissed Jeans, The Antlers, Jay Reatard, Mute Math and the one and only GWAR! Also be sure to look for sweet new re-issues from The Cult and the legendary Willie Mitchell.
