Champaign-Urbana’s own Carnivàle Debauche has been hard at work preparing for their special holiday performance, “Naughty or Nice: A Holiday Revue.” This show will feature traditional burlesque and neo-burlesque acts, all to the tune of some classic holiday songs.
A few of the troupe members stopped by WEFT last week to talk about their upcoming show on SP Radio. Take a listen here.
The live singing and dance numbers will be made all the more merry with some fabulous holiday costumes and colors. Deep greens and reds, alongside snowy silvers and whites will paint the stage and the performers on it. The costumes, many of which are handmade, are a call to traditional Christmas stories of Santa and his reindeer, as well as the sparkly vibe of New Year’s Eve bashes.
The evening’s music selection is sure to please the crowd, too. The Carnivàle Debauche house band, The Dirty Asterisks, will be laying down the holiday jams all night long. Singing alongside them will be an array of different voices from the troupe. Come out expecting to hear some of your favorites.
Naughty or Nice: A Holiday Revue will be held at the Highdive in downtown Champaign this Saturday, Dec. 8. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the first set will run from 8:30–9:00 p.m. The second set will run from 9:25–10:00 p.m., and the third set will run from 10:25–11:00 p.m. A DJ performance will follow the show. Tickets are $7 at the door. No advance tickets will be sold for this show.
