As if Throw Me The Statue, Nurses, Those Darlins and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin weren’t enough, tonight the Courtyard Café brings a reunited On Again Off Again to the stage and the Brooklyn eccentricity of Bryan Scary and The Shredding Tears.
Over the summer, On Again Off Again recorded their second EP titled Recycles (the first is titled Cycles). Although only band member Brian Houze remains in the area as of this summer, tonight is the first of three shows within a month for On Again Off Again in C-U. Expect to check out these charming young men while you can.
Bryan Scary and The Shredding Tears create a rare blend of electro-dramatic pop music with the energy of a four-year-old boy on a Kool-aid high. Scary’s mesmerizing keyboard skills and pop-punk vocals will take you back to the days of yore…or high school. It will be interesting to see such a band in the friendly confines of the Courtyard Café.
