Restaurant Week is underway, and we are enjoying all the specials. We shared yesterday about Neil St. Blues’ turkey leg and Stango’s comfort food offerings.

Siam Terrace has several options for this Restaurant Week: a meal for one ($15), meal for two ($30), and family meal ($50).
My husband and I love a date night in, so we ordered Siam Terrace’s RW special meal for two.
The meal for two includes a choice of appetizer, two entrées, and a choice of two iced coffees, two iced teas, or one chocolate cake.
I chose pork potstickers for my appetizer. When I ordered, they asked if I prefered steamed or fried, and I chose fried. The pot sticker app had four potstickers and a sauce for dipping. The potstickers had a thick and bready exterior and an exceptionally delicious filling of pork and onion. The onion was a strong flavor that went really nicely with the pork and gave a fresh crunch to the middle. The potsticker wrapper had both crispy, fried edges and chewy, softer parts. The potsticker had a thicker wrapper than I’ve had before, but it held its shape — and the contents well.
For my dish, I ordered chicken pad Thai. I love pad Thai, and Siam Terrace’s Restaurant Week pad Thai was great. You can choose between chicken or tofu for your protein. I ordered mine medium spice, and it came pretty spicy which I enjoyed. The dish had a very generous amount of thinly sliced chicken with raw bean sprouts and carrots on the side. All of it together was fantastic: the tiny egg crumbles, crushed peanuts, chicken, veggies, and the spicy flat noodles. I really liked the fresh crunch of the bean sprouts against the heat from the spice in this dish.
My husband had the terriyaki chicken rice bowl as his entrée. To be honest, it was underwhelming. The dish had an ample amount of dark meat chicken on top a huge portion of white rice, soaked in the teriyaki sauce with a side of unseasoned, steamed veggies. The chicken was fine, but the teriyaki sauce had made its way off the chicken and down into the rice, so there really wasn’t a big teriyaki flavor on the chicken without a mouthful of rice as well.
We chose cake for our dessert instead of iced coffee or iced tea. This was Siam Terrace’s molten cake, and it was epic. It was a little circle cake that had a rich cocoa flavor. Moist and freshly baked, this molten cake wasn’t warm like most molten items, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The cake was drizzled with chocolate syrup. When we cut into the cake, the gooey center oozed out.
I mean, look at that pooling chocolate sauce. The cherry in this dessert was, quite literally, the cherry on top of this meal: my mouth, still burning from the pad Thai, quelling the heat with a bite of cake, chocolate sauce, and the cherry. It was a lovely dessert to split between two people, and I would totally judge you if you skipped this cake for coffee or tea.
All in all, it was a good meal. Everything was packaged nicely and carried out well. Be sure to call in your Restaurant Week specials at 217-367-8424 as the RW 2021 specials are not available in Siam Terrace’s online order form (as of publishing on Tuesday, February 2nd).
