Last Tuesday evening the Champaign County Master Gardeners presented Susan Biggs-Warner of the Vermilion County Conservation District at the University of Illinois Extention office. Susan showed us what to do with all those beautiful herbs that are growing rapidly in our garden this time of year. She prepared some delicious treats right before our eyes that made out taste glands salivate.
Susan covered how to freeze or dry herbs for winter and make scrumptious composed salads with fresh herbs and vegetable all directly from your own garden. Don’t have your own garden? Stop by your local farmers market and pick some up. Cooking with herbs was just as mouth-watering and informational as promised.
