Take a peek into the past

The Prairie Stories event allowed children of all ages to learn about how people lived back in the 1800s! Even the adults learned a thing or two about where we originate from. There were two blacksmithing stations that were showing off different techniques on metal making, a pottery maker artfully displayed his skill while talking to the bystanders on how he manipulates the clay, they had a few classes in the Schoolhouse, a butter making station next to candle stick making and a washing clothes station, a folk country dancing class, and some instructional areas on animal skulls, native american games, and drawings! They could also learn how to throw spears with a atlatl and a magnetic mapping system to lcoate where the native americans used to live. Overall the event was filled with unique activities that all could enjoy!
