A controversial engineering professor shouldn’t have been suspended without a hearing, a faculty group investigating Louis Wozniak’s case argues.
A report from the University of Illinois Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure doesn’t defend Professor Louis Wozniak’s actions, which according to Ilesanmi Adesida, College of Engineering dean, includes making sexually suggestive remarks and videotaping students without their consent.
The report says the professor was not afforded due process or faculty involvement in his case.

While area officials gathered public comment on the proposed Olympian Drive project on Wednesday night, one thing was clear: There still is very little consensus on any aspect of the road planned to transect north Champaign and Urbana.
Urbana city officials and the consultants they have hired displayed timelines and maps of the proposed road and its supposed economic benefits, while skeptics handed out fliers discussing the need for an independent study of whether the project should move forward.

The University’s administration failed its midterm Thursday afternoon. This “midterm” was given by students and faculty and evaluated the University’s accessibility, diversity, accountability and quality – values that are apparent in the University’s mission statement.
The “midterm” was part of a rally which began at noon around the Alma Mater where students, faculty and United Coalition members heard speeches given by various University students and faculty.

Urbana police are investigating an armed robbery at an Urbana restaurant where two men ordered staff and customers to the floor at gunpoint.
Sgt. Dan Morgan said about 10 p.m. Tuesday, two men wearing dark clothing and ski masks entered the Cracker Barrel at 2101 N. Kenyon Road and ordered everyone to the floor.
