On this episode, we talk with Erica Schneider, President of Champaign County’s museum consortium, Museums at the Crossroads. Erica discusses the consortium and its role in promoting awareness, encouraging visitation, and fostering diverse educational relationships.
The group currently has a Museum Passport Program that runs through August 17 and rewards participants for visits to multiple museums. Official passports can be obtained at participating Champaign County museums, the Museums at the Crossroads website, and through the Champaign County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Prizewinners will be drawn on Saturday, August 25, 1:00 p.m. at the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival.
Members of the Museums at the Crossroads Consortium: Anita Purves Nature Center, Champaign County Historical Museum, Chanute Air Museum, Krannert Art Museum, Museum of the Grand Prairie, Orpheum Children’s Science Museum, Parkland Art Gallery, Pollinatarium, Sousa Archives and Center for American Museum, Spurlock Museum, and the Staerkel Planetarium.
