The Wall That Heals traveled from St. Joseph to Lake of the Woods from June 23rd through June 26th. This past Thursday was the wall’s opening cerermony, followed by a closing candlelight vigil Saturday evening at 9 p.m. where 37 Champaign County soldiers were named and honored.
The Wall That Heals was designed to travel from city to city to help allow those veterans that are not able to make it to D.C. to be able to make this step in hopes of helping the healing process along. The traveling wall, which is a half-size replica, holds all 53,253 names that the original wall holds.
