Fighting Illini Volleyball returned home this past weekend to continue Big Ten play, facing off against both Purdue and Indiana. The Illini fell to the #19 Boilermakers in three sets on Friday. After losing the first set of Saturday’s match to the Hoosiers, the ladies took control of the next three sets, leading Indiana totheir 6th consecutive loss this season.
The Hoosiers came out strong on Saturday evening, coming back from an 11-3 deficit to beat the Illini in the first set by a score of 25-22. The Illini persevered, however, winning the next three sets 27-25, 25-20, and 25-22. Big Ten play continues at Huff Hall next weekend as the Illini host Ohio State on Friday and Maryland the following evening.
