The 2016 Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival is officially in the books. The ninth installment of the annual event, hosted by Fluid Events, took place this past weekend in Downtown, Champaign. “Overall we had a good turnout,” said Festival Director, Mike Galloway. “The heat kind of put a damper on things but I think everyone that came enjoyed themselves.” Originally held as a one night event in Urbana, the festival moved to Champaign in 2012 and has expanded to two days with two musical stages. And while patrons share the past weekend’s memories with their friends and families, the 2017 festival is already in the works.
When asked what fans can look forward to, Galloway stated, “Well, next year IS the 10th anniversary so I would say… stay tuned!”
