Situated on the same plot of land as Parkland College, this expansive park is massive at 104 acres of land. And there are a lot of features to explore, no matter your interests.

Founded in 1874, Beardsley is the oldest neighborhood park in Champaign. And its namesake founder, George F., had a helluva run here in Champaign. Click on this article to learn more about him, and what he left us to enjoy after he passed. 

If you look for it, you will be rewarded with an almost empty landscape of off-the-beaten path walking trails, the Salt Fork River, and serenity rarely found in Champaign County. Just don't go too often; you will ruin it for everyone. 

One of the best places to watch a Little League baseball game in town, this expansive park on the west side of Champaign provides lots of things to do, and to take in a truly great sunset. 

The pocket park off Bradley Ave. in Champaign was donated by a man named Clarence Thompson, who once owned a grand hotel downtown, on the same site as a new hotel planned for after the pandemic fades away. 

Skelton Park sits on one of the most promising corners in all of Champaign-Urbana. Change is coming, and the best we can ask for now is that we make an investment into its green space.
