Last week, New York Times bestselling author J. Ryan Stradal visited the Champaign Public Library to read and answer questions about his book, Kitchens of the Great Midwest. The Robeson conference room inside the library was packed full of people who had read the book and brought their own copies and people like myself, who bought the book at the library to have it signed. J. Ryan Stradal discussed how much of an influence his Midwestern life and family, his Mother in particular, had on him and what it was his journey to becoming a writer was like. He also gave advice and suggestions for those interested during the Q&A. Though I had not read the book, I was very entertained and interested in what J. Ryan Stradal had to say about his life and how his bestselling book came to be.
