Julie and Nathan Gunn, Krannert Center’s Studio Theatre, Urbana, 7:30 or 9:30 p.m., $10-$52
This weekend, I’m going to class it up, dress it up, and go listen to an internationally-known baritone sing Tom Waits and Cole Porter while his gifted pianist wife accompanies. You should consider doing the same, so get your name on the waiting list for Friday or Saturday, or call the Ticket Office at 217-333-6280. (RK)

Have a cocktail, bacaro, Esquire, your locale of choice, sunrise to bed time, about $10
Nights are cooler, darkness arrives earlier, and students are back. The summer is just about gone. This weekend’s forecasted weather is delightful, and perfect for enjoying a cocktail outdoors. Pictured is bacaro’s Black Buffalo, which was delicious. (JH)
Chamber Music Series, Krannert Art Museum, Urbana, 2 p.m., free

As I mentioned earlier this week in the SPlog — Pizzeria Antica, the newest restaurant to DT Champaign, will start serving gelato this weekend. An Afternoon with Robbie Fulks and Redd Volkaert, Rose Bowl Tavern, 3-8 p.m., cover

Eat green curry, Any Thai restaurant or your kitchen, anytime
Green curry is one of my all-time favorite foods. I eat it all year round, but since the weather’s getting colder, I’ve got a hankerin’ for it. I can confidently recommend that of Siam Terrace or Basil Thai, but the cheapest option would be making it yourself! Just grab some veggies, tofu, rice, coconut milk and curry paste (from Far East, perhaps) and you’re good to go. (MR)
Decide on a Halloween costume, Goodwill, anytime
Maybe I’m a freak, but I get excited for Halloween way in advance. You’d best be thinking about your costume now if you want to ace it this year. Check out Goodwill off Prospect, or the new location in Savoy for some inspiration. (MR)
