National Night Out is a community oriented event held at Garden Hills Park at Garden Hills Dr, Champaign, IL. From the website:
National Night Out (NNO) is a designated evening when communities across America come together to take a stand against crime. This annual community-building initiative promotes neighborhood camaraderie and community-police partnerships to help make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. To celebrate this event, residents of Champaign are asked to join Americans across the country by turning on their porch lights to turn off crime, and spending the evening outdoors with their neighbors.
The park is quite expansive, so there was enough room for several tents for nearby businesses to host, two large inflatables, a traveling science center and still enough room for an entire field for children to run and play. Everyone was having a great time having their face painted, having a balloon made for them by Mr. Air-Head Balloon Entertainment, as well as eating free nachos.
