A new community engagement campaign created by the Neighborhood Services Department, Champaign County Community Coalition, and the Hip-Hop Express aims to bring neighborhoods together through block parties.
The campaign started on Monday, August 2nd and will have events through September 1st. The schedule is as follows;
August 2, 6-8 pm: Garden Hills Neighborhood Block Party/National Night Out, 1701 Bloomington Road, Champaign.
August 11, 6-8 pm: Hedge Road Neighborhood Block Party, 1500 Block of Hedge Road, Champaign.
CANCELED: August 12, 6-8 pm: Country Brook Block Party, 2502 W Springfield Ave, Champaign.
August 19, 9-11 pm: Downtown Champaign Block Party, Neil and Washington City Parking Lot.
August 25, 6-8 pm: Town Center Apartments Block Party, 2413 N Neil St, Champaign.
September 1, 6-8 pm: Bristol Place Residences Celebration and Tour Closeout, 1300 N Market St, Champaign.
Each event will have music and DJs, bounce houses, and family-friendly games and activities. Attendees will also be able to provide feedback to the City on how the American Rescue Plan funds will have the biggest impact on the community.
