University of Illinois Professor of Astronomy Yue Shen and graduate student Colin Burke have had their research on “the optical variability time scale of black hole accretion disks” published in Science, which is a big deal. From what I undestand, it’s research that explores a new way of measuring or assessing the size of black holes.
