Last winter my social media feeds were filled with photos of the holiday lights at Allerton Park. It was the fifth year of the annual event, previously known as the Winter Wellness Walk, but in a year where we all just wanted safe ways to get out and enjoy ourselves, suddenly almost every person I knew was there.
This year it returns as Holiday Glow, and it opens on Friday, December 3rd. If you’d like to attend that night, which will also include music from Monticello High School students, food trucks and a cash bar, and an opportunity to browse the Holiday Showcase in the Mansion, then you need to purchase a ticket for $10. There are a limited amount available, and arrival times will be staggered by the hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
If you would just like to go enjoy the lights, you can do that without making a reservation from 5 to 9 p.m., December 4-23 and 27-30, and January 7-8 and 14-15. There is a suggested donation of $10 per car.
