Punk outfit Weedeater stop in at the nightshop this week, and this is band is just gnarly. They came through C-U a few years back at the Highdive (RIP), they are worth checking out if you’re into stoner metal/punk.

Poster Children, Lonely Trailer, Winder

C-U/B-N legends Poster Children are back with a new album, Grand Bargain!, which is out now — I highlighted what they are up to in my last scene update column. It is awesome they are doing this show at nightshop with Lonely Trailer of C-U and Winder which shares members of both communities. Winder’s new EP, GONE, FOR GOOD, comes out soon.

Snayl, Fiona Kimble, Aquila

Snayl is leaving town, but not before this show happens on Thursday. Snayl and Fiona Kimble have been on a Midwest tour — both having released records recently. Snayl’s Without was just released, and Kimble’s Your Playground came out at the end of last year. Check this one out on Thursday night in Urbana for free.

Our Landmark released a record at the end of last year, and a new video a few months back for you to check out. Here’s a three band local bill at Monkey worth your time — Our Landmark is joined by Patriot Patrol and Colonel James Presents.

Sun Stereo

Blackbird is turning one this week, and they are throwing a party to celebrate. Sun Stereo just released their first new track in four years last week, and they are going to ring in the second year of business for this venue in Downtown Urbana on Friday night.

SATURDAY, June 30th

Give A Little is a benefit show for Hospice Hearts — $5 suggested donation goes to the cause, plus 10% of sales between 12-5 p.m. at Exile and Dandelion will go towards it as well. Hospice Hearts “is to assist cats and dogs whose owners are no longer able to care for them due to owner illness, nursing home admission, or death, as well as provide patients nearing end of life with the peace of mind that their beloved pets will be cared for.” Artists performing are listed above, but there’s also a reading by R. Reardon and Emily Frances Kerlin.
