Though C-U doesn’t “officially” celebrate Pride until the fall, when all of the students are back in town, Uniting Pride of Champaign County has scheduled events all through the month of June in honor of national Pride Month. Follow the links for more information about each event.
June 5th – Pride Official Pre-Party at NOLA’s Rock Bar (family friendly from 4 to 7 p.m., 18+ after 7 p.m.)
June 8th – Urbana Park District’s Neighborhood Nights Concert with New Souls in Friendship Grove
June 11th – AIDS in East Central Illinois panel discussion streamed online and in-person
June 12th – Family friendly Pride Party at Rose Bowl Tavern with music from DJ Silkee and Emily the Band, Drag Story Time, face painting and bubbles, a Young, Black, and Queer book drive, and a drag show.
June 18th – Champaign Park District’s Juneteenth Celebration in Douglass Park
June 26th – Drag Story Time at The Literary with Karma Carrington, Raven Delacroix Starlings, and Spank Knightly
