The 20th annual Dump and Run sale, hosted by the University YMCA, is happening August 20-21, and beginning August 1st they will be ready to accept your donations for the sale.
It’s the perfect time to start clearing out usable items in your house or apartment that you just don’t use anymore. Donating them to the sale will keep them out of a landfill, and put them into the hands of someone else who can use them.
The collection will be at the U of I Stock Pavillion on Pennsylvania Avenue. Here are the days/times:
- August 1st, 12 to 4 p.m.
- Weekdays through August 12th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- August 6th and 13th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Be sure to check the Y’s list of accepted items before you load up the car. If you have a bicycle or furniture to donate, you can request a pickup for the 6th or 13th.
They are also in need of volunteers to help sort, price, and sell items. You can sign up to do that here.
