It’s freaking freezing out, but these made-in-house hot cocoa bombs are a great winter treat to warm you up.

I bought two of Farren’s hot cocoa bombs for $10, and they were just gorgeous. The cocoa bombs were big and drizzled with white chocolate and sprinkles. Farren’s pastry chef makes fresh batches of these cocoa bombs, and you can buy these in person at the host stand.

I picked the white one with the big sprinkles to try first, and I plopped it into a mug. I heated up some milk (but you can use water if you like) and poured it over the hot cocoa bomb.

The thick white chocolate sphere bobbed for a few moments in the hot milk, then the hot cocoa bomb took a dramatic turn, crack, and opened to reveal the inner contents. The process had a wow factor that truly mesmerized me and my children; it was a fun way to make hot chocolate.
The taste was great, and since the cocoa bomb was made with white chocolate, the hot chocolate had a pale chocolate color. There were fifteen mini marshmallows, and they turned into delicious gooey, pillows of sugar to enjoy between sips. The hot chocolate drink had a white chocolate flavor that made it sweeter than a usual hot cocoa. Those soft marshmallows melted like a s’more ‘mallow, and I loved that.

At this time, you cannot add them to your online order, but you can certainly put in an online order and when picking up your dinner, ask to buy some hot cocoa bombs. They’re the perfect after school treat or a great way to make working from home a little sweeter.
