Two years ago, New York-based performance artist Autumn Knight came to Krannert Art Museum with a solo exhibition which explored issues of race, gender, and authority. She returns this week with events (a performance and a conversation/book signing) to celebrate Autumn Knight: In Rehearsal —”the first comprehensive publication” about her work, which has been edited by Amy L. Powell and co-published by Krannert Art Museum and Project Row Houses, Houston. Both of these definitely quality as “don’t-miss” events, especially for those interested in performance art or deep investigations of how identity is created through various forms of documentation, and how race, class, and gender figure into this construction.
