Check out Writers & Their Tools beginning next week

The Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois will have an exhibit on display beginning June 17th that features the progression of tools that writers have used throughout the years. Just in my own existence, I’ve gone from paper to typewriter to word processor (remember those!?!) to desktop to laptop and now occasionally my phone.

This particular exhibit will highlight the tools that writers have utilized over centuries from the world of parchment and quills to the world of digital. You can even see a couple of famous typewriters — those used by a couple of writers with C-U roots — Roger Ebert and Hugh Hefner.

The exhibit will be available for viewing through August 28th.
