Next week is Pollinator Week, not just here in C-U, but across the U.S. From the Pollinator Week website:
“National Pollinator Week is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what you can do to protect them.
Twelve years ago the U.S. Senate’s unanimous approval and designation of a week in June as “National Pollinator Week” marked a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations. Pollinator Week has now grown into an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles.”
The Orpheum Children’s Science Museum has several activities planned in recognition of the week. Tuesday, June 18th through Friday, June 21st from 2 to 4 p.m. you can bring the kids to museum for a pollinator-related arts and crafts or science project.
Day 1 (Tue): Pollen Power
Day 2 (Wed): Flower Exploration
Day 3 (Thu): Butterfly Creation
Day 4 (Fri): Buzzing about Bees
Admission to the museum is $5 for non-members, and free for members.
