Yesterday was Earth Day. Are you doing good for the earth by cycling most of the time? Of course, but there’s always room for improvement. How green is your bicycle?
These products even make many of the efficient products on our bikes look wasteful by comparison. Many also can make it safer for you to ride, which is an added benefit. You can’t discount the style factor, either.
Pedalite Pedals
These are not cheap, at around $60 or more per pair but they use the energy of your pedaling to power the LED’s in the pedal. No batteries for the landfill. They keep flashing when you stop for up to five minutes. They are relatively new to America but have been sold in Europe for a few years.
Pedalite Bag Light
This bag, like the pedals, is powered by human movement. It adds flashing lights, two white lights in the front and one red in the back for safety. You can never have too many lights when riding at night.
Pedalite Ankle Light
This also is human-powered and adds the safety of clasping your pants leg so you don’t rip them in your sprocket.
