Back in May, Niala Boodhoo, host and executive producer of The 21st radio show, was awarded a Knight-Wallace fellowship from University of Michigan for the next academic year.
Now Boodhoo, who was a key figure in launching the show three years ago, will be stepping down to pursue that new opportunity. From the media release:
“We knew we had a great idea, and I was very excited to execute it with Illinois Public Media,” Boodhoo said. “The opportunity to create something new from the ground up was an absolute privilege. I feel like we’ve created a new statewide audience, prompted important conversation, and helped elevate discourse throughout Illinois.”
There is now a nationwide search happening to find Boodhoo’s replacement.
