Isn’t life decidedly odd sometimes? Before, being cool meant using hella as much as possible. Now it seems that you have to be uncool to be cool. Yup, you heard me right. See those kids wearing shirts that could have gotten them beat up in the fourth grade? How about that dude with the home-knit sweater coupled with his thick grandma glasses? In this day and age of musicians being weird for weirdness’ sake, it’s really refreshing to just have a straightforward song: plain melodic goodness minus all the bleeps and skronks. And tonight you’ll be treated to some of that as Santa and Carl Hauck perform at Mike ‘n Molly’s.
Carl Hauck, who has three albums under his belt, consists of basically a man, an acoustic guitar, and some heartfelt songs. Just like that, no strings attached. Local favorites Santa, who have recently released an EP, are back from the dead and out to spark their vibe of bouncy pop sensibilities. Expect an enjoyable show that will cover a wide range of emotions.
Go on, don’t be shy, come out and see these local goodies, it’s gonna be hella fun.
Show starts at 8pm with a $5 cover charge. Mike ‘n Molly’s is located at 105 N. Market St., Champaign. Sorry kids, 21+ only.
