Tomorrow night at Biaggi’s (2235 S. Neil St., Champaign), local country-punk songstress Angie Heaton will be playing a solo, acoustic show on the patio. The show is free and is from 6 to 8 p.m.
This is Angie’s second concert this summer at Biaggi’s. Of her June 24 show, she said, “It was great! Lots of friends, and lots of new faces.” For those of you who haven’t been to see live music at Biaggi’s before, she added, “People can eat or drink and enjoy music on the patio. It’s important to make a patio reservation to ensure seating. Come hungry!”
Heaton has been playing mostly outdoor shows this summer, which has been a nice change for her. She noted, “I LOVE to play outside! It’s a whole different vibe than playing inside…more space…fresh air!”
As a former member of Corndolly and the Tractor Kings, not to mention her solo career which has spanned four albums, Heaton has a large repertoire from which to draw. “I play new and old material. People always want to hear a mix,” she said. “I also usually do at least one cover in my set.”
Heaton’s weekend trip also brought a new addition to her act. She explains, “I bought a new guitar strap at Lollapalooza…it has owls on it…people might want to come out to see that!” If that isn’t enough of a clincher for you, check out some streaming audio of a couple of Angie’s songs:
