The League of American Bicyclists is proud to announce City of Champaign as a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB), in an impressive group of 51 new BFBs. The official announcement was made at the 10th Anniversary National Bike Summit in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 9.

Businesses that apply for the award are contributing to a more bicycle-friendly lifestyle for their employees. The City of Champaign serves as an example for best practices and innovations in bicycle friendliness at the workplace. The City of Champaign makes bicycling an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as changing and shower facilities and conveniently located bike racks. Approximately 8 percent of City of Champaign employees regularly bike to work.
