Now is a great time to go see spring woodland wildflowers around the area. Scenes like this can be found along the Salt Fork at Homer Lake Forest Preserve, along the Sangamon at River Bend or Lake of the Woods in Mahomet, or along the Sugar Creek Trail at the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve north of Penfield. Take a field guide because there’s plenty more to see as well.
