Fighting Illini Basketball
Men’s Basketball Season Ticket Information
Opportunities for UI students and public still available
Champaign, Ill.—School is back in session and that means the Fighting Illini basketball program is hard at work, gearing up for the 2009-10 season.
There are many ways for fans to catch all the action at Assembly Hall this season. Season ticket renewals for the public are going on now, with a deadline of Friday, Sept. 4. Fans can renew online at www.fightingillini.com, by mail, phone (1-866-ILLINI1 or 217-333-3470), fax (217-244-4170) or in person at the Athletics Ticket Office at Assembly Hall.
A limited number of C-level season tickets are now on sale for new season ticket holders. Those tickets can be purchased by phone or visiting the Assembly Hall North Ticket Office. Season tickets cover all 18 home games (two exhibition, seven non-conference and nine Big Ten), plus the Orange & Blue scrimmage.
Student season tickets are on sale now for $134, which covers a total of 12 games and the scrimmage. Season tickets are available to all UI students: freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors as well as graduate students. This also means that upperclassmen who have not purchased tickets in the past are able to order tickets for the upcoming season. Student season tickets will be allocated based on a priority points system.
Students interested in ordering season tickets should fill out the form available at www.fightingillini.com or in person at the Athletics Ticket Office located at Assembly Hall. The deadline to turn in student season ticket order forms and be seated based on priority point ranking is Sept. 18. Non-priority student season tickets, if still available, will be on-sale through Oct. 30.
“There is no question the atmosphere and energy at the Assembly Hall starts with our students, and our players feed off that energy,” Head Coach Bruce Weber said. “The students have done an unbelievable job making The Hall one of the toughest places in the country for visiting teams to play, and we want that trend to continue this year.”
Students also can acquire season tickets by becoming a member of Orange Krush. All active members of Orange Krush are guaranteed a student season ticket. To join Krush, students must first become a member of Illini Pride. Students can sign up in person by visiting the Illini Pride cubicle, located on the second floor of the Illini Union.
Orange Krush is a philanthropic organization that raises funds for local charities as well as the University. Students interested in joining Krush participate in the 3-point program that serves as the group’s fundraising arm. Members solicit pledges from the community, asking people to pledge money per made 3-pointer by the team during the upcoming season, or for flat donations. The amount of money raised determines the student’s Krush level, which then determines benefits and seat priority at the games.
Orange Krush members are working on their pledges now. Those will be turned in during Krush registration, which takes place Sept. 8-15.
Visit www.illinipride.com/orange-krush for more information on Orange Krush or to download a Krush Pledge Sheet.
