Time: Sunday, Oct. 3, 3:00–4:30 p.m.
Location: Urbana Free Library
We are happy to announce the release of Alice McGinty’s newest book, Eliza’s Kindergarten Pet. If you’re in Champaign-Urbana, we hope you’ll help celebrate by joining Alice at a book signing and Cookie Decorating Party (Cookie is the guinea pig in the story) on Sunday, October 3rd from 3:00–4:30 p.m. in the Urbana Free Library’s auditorium.
There will be a reading and talk, along with the chance to decorate baked cookies and a four-foot-long paper version of Cookie that will be displayed at the library. The live version of Cookie will be there as well, and books will be available for sale through Jane Addams Bookstore.
During the last two weeks of September, Alice will be visiting 30 kindergarten classes at local schools to celebrate the release of the book.
About the Book:
It’s first day back to school and the children are introduced to “Cookie,” a guinea pig, the new class pet. Eliza is a bit wary of something that looks like a chocolate chip cookie with teeth but guess who finds Cookie when it goes missing.
