Living Downstream documentary film based upon Central Illinois Biologist’s book debuts at Art Theater on October 16th.
Living Downstream is a feature-length documentary based on the book of the same name by Sandra Steingraber. Sandra is a biologist, author, cancer survivor, and cancer prevention advocate who graduated from Illinois Weslyan University and was born and raised in Pekin, Illinois.
The documentary debuts in Champaign-Urbana on Saturday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Art Theater in downtown Champaign. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased in advance at the Art or at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are also available at the door the day of the screening.
The screening at the Art will be followed by a Q/A session with Sandra Steingraber and the filmmaker, Chanda Chevannes, and a book signing of the newly updated second edition of Living Downstream, hosted by Jane Addams Book Shop.
Like the book upon which the film is based, Living Downstream documents the growing body of scientific evidence that links human health with the health of our environment and concludes that the best way to beat cancer is by preventing it in the first place.
