In training for next month’s Fight For Air Climb at the 30-story Springfield Hilton, I contacted several of the towers in town to see if the management would let me train.
I was told, “No, it’s a liability issue.” Imagine my surprise when the fire fighters at my gym told me that they have been denied the opportunity to train not for charity events, but for actual fires in these buildings also under the excuse of liability issues.
The only tall building they get to train in is the Florida Avenue Residence Hall. Now who is really on the line for liability?
