On August 16, from 4 – 9 p.m., Buvons will host Punchy’s Ceviche Pop-up. “Punchy,” otherwise known as Leslie Bettridge, created the menu below. Cost will be between $4 to $10 per item, and of course, Buvons will pour wine pairings. The menu:
- Corvina de Purgatorio: Traditional mild, sweet fish brightened with fresh chiles and sweet potato chips
- Hamachi Nisei: Peruvian: Japanese style with home-grown shiso, furikake, and shrimp chips
- Tuna Sandía: Cerviche moderne combining pole-caught Ahi and local watermelon, with crumbled rice cake
- Blue Moon: John’s cherry tomatoes, seabeans, and seaweed salt
- Simlin: Summer squash, basil, lemon oil, and veggie puffs
We’re not sure who John is, or who will pole-catch the Ahi, for that matter, but we expect this event to be worth getting out for—no matter how hot it is that day.
