Run (or walk) for the Health of it

On Sunday, October 21st, student interns of the Campaign for Better Health Care (CBHC) will host the ‘5K Run/Walk For The Health Of It’ event at the University of Illinois Illini Union quad side. The student-arm of CBHC is planning this event to kick off student membership and the U of I campus healthcare forum.

First 50 people to sign up will receive a free Silvermine sub! Pre-register online for $12, or for $10 when you get a team of 4 or more together.

Race day registration ($15) starts at 10 a.m., race at 11 a.m..

At 12 noon after the race, everyone, whether they have registered for the race or not, is invited to the after party at White Horse. Raffle starts at 1:00 p.m. with prizes from Jamba Juice, Seven Saints, Cafe Kopi, Le Peep, Dandelion, T.I.S., and Illini Union Bookstore. Proceeds from the 5K go to furthering the initiative of health care justice.

Campaign for Better Health Care is a state-wide non-profit with its home office located in the heart of downtown Champaign. CBHC was founded in 1989 on the belief that affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for all is a basic human right. Since then, we have become Illinois’ largest health care coalition, working with over 300 local and statewide organizations.  Campaign for Better Health Care continues to fight alongside consumers, health care workers, and providers, religious groups, disability rights organization, an other concerned citizens to meet the health care needs of all people.
