The Champaign-Urbana Herb Society will hold its annual Plant Sale, featuring a wide variety of herbs on Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside Lincoln Square in Urbana.
This event will be held in conjunction with the plant sales of Grand Prairie Friends, Illinois Prairie Hosta Society, CU Business Women’s Club, Central Illinois Orchid Society, Bonsai Society of Central Illinois, the African Violet Society, and Marlin’s Woodland Plants.
Proceeds from the C-U Herb Society’s plant sale will go towards book donations to area libraries, mini-grants to schools, and to our educational public herb gardens at Meadowbrook Park and the Urbana Free Library. Our annual plant sale, offering a wide variety of herbs, is our only fundraiser event and has become a much anticipated community tradition. Members of the Herb Society enjoy this opportunity to share their knowledge of herbs with customers. There are always members with lots of experience on hand to answer questions and give advice and information on local growing requirements. It will be great for Mother’s Day gifts!
