US1059’s 1st Annual Country Cares for St Jude
New Country and All Time Favorites US1059 (WGKC-FM) kicks-off their 1st Annual Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon on Thursday, November 6th from the US1059 studio off Windsor Avenue in Urbana. The event runs from 6:00 AM until 7:00 pm on Thursday and continued with the same hours on Friday, November 7th. The annual event raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the world’s premier center for the research and treatment of cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Since the inception of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids in 1989, more than $225 million dollars in pledges and donations have been collected for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Country Cares for St. Jude Kids program was launched by Randy Owen, lead singer from country music sensation Alabama, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital founder Danny Thomas.
