Merry-Ann’s annual Celebrity Server and Chef Fundraiser took place June 1-2 at the Downtown and Neil St. locations. 100% of the proceeds went towards the Summer Youth Employment Program from Unit 4 and they managed to smash last year’s record by raising $9,002.18.
Check out the rest of the details in the release from Unit 4:
On June 1 & 2, Merry-Ann’s Diner hosted the second annual Celebrity Server and Chef Fundraiser in support of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). One hundred percent of the fundraiser’s proceeds were donated to the program.
Last year, the event raised over $6,000 thanks to the community’s support. This year’s donations have been tallied and the effort raised a record-breaking $9,002.18 in support of SYEP!
Special thanks to owner Anthony Pomonis for his generosity and support of the SYEP program. Thank you also to donors Kyle Harrison, Habeeb Habeeb and Clint Jackson.
The Summer Youth Employment Program provides job training and career exploration opportunities to youth in Champaign Unit 4 Schools through the completion of a six-week job placement program with a local business. Currently in its fifth year, SYEP works with over 70 local businesses and will serve more than 180 students.
