2013 recipients, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, used the funds to enhance civil rights lessons with art experiences by taking the students to see Preston Jackson’s sculpture, putting on an all-school assembly that involved every student in singing, viewing art, listening to guest speakers and playing guitars.
