On Friday night in Toronto, Champaign native and City of Champaign employee Nichole Millage (#13) had three kills and an ace in the final USA vs. Brazil match to bring home the GOLD for the U.S.
U.S. Women’s Sitting Volleyball Team, ranked third in the world, beat Brazil, 25-20, 25-22, 25-15. This was the first-ever women’s sitting volleyball title at the Parapan American Games.
Team USA will focus its attention next on the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio (September 7-18, 2016).
Millage is no stranger to success, including two silver Olympic medals in 2008, 2012, a gold at the Volleyball Masters in The Netherlands in 2012, and four gold medals at the Parapan American Games.
