Polyvinyl is an independently owned and operated record label based in Champaign. With a catalog of more than 300 releases from over 100 artists — including American Football, Braid, Rainer Maria, of Montreal, Xiu Xiu, Deerhoof and Japandroids — we’re proud to work with some of music’s most interesting and respected artists over the past two decades.
PVHQ, our production and distribution hub, is located just off of the U of I campus on south Neil St, so we’re in a great location for students looking to experience a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how an independent record label operates.
Interns assist our mailorder and production team by making boxes, folding t-shirts, prepping pre-orders, assembling records, maintaining inventory, and updating our website.
Additionally, interns will lend a hand to our satellite offices by taking care of retail, radio, and publicity mailings when needed.
Potential interns should expect to spend about nine hours per week at the office. Typical shifts are three hours long and occur Monday-Friday between 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Internships are unpaid, but can be taken for college credit/life experience/free records.
Interested parties should send a resume and cover letter via email to Sara at: internships(at)polyvinylrecords.com
