No, I didn’t say exhibition, these art lessons are adventures rather than rooms.
Giertz Gallery at Parkland College holds several art-centric trips to regional curiosities that are good enough to make me want to play hooky. As of this writing, there is still one spot left to see the Farnsworth House designed by Mies van der Rohe and eat lunch in Teddy Roosevelt’s Pullman car.
The above expedition is being held Friday, Sept 18th from 7:30am – 5:15pm, and you can call 217-353-2055 to register for the last $85 ticket. Please notify them of any accessibility issues when you call.
Future trips will include a Chicago Tea & Spice Tour on October 1st (registration deadline 9/17, $59 ticket) and a prairie-style house in Springfield designed by Frank Lloyd Wright on October 23rd (registration deadline 10/9, $75 ticket)
These adventures do last all day, and the bus departs from the BTCE. I do not know exactly what that means, but Google tells me it has to do with building names at Parkland. I would probably ask when I call to register. 217-353-2055
